What are Friend Groups?

Friend Groups are small groups with an average size of 6-12 people. They exist to promote spiritual maturity and personal growth through meaningful Christian relationships and study of God’s Word.

Do I have to be a member of NCC to attend a Friend Group?

No, you do not have to be a member of NCC to attend a Friend Group. We welcome anyone to attend these groups. We just ask that those attending be committed to the group they choose and make it a priority in their life.

What is a Sermon-Based Friend Group?

A sermon-based Friend Group will use the sermon from the previous Sunday as their focus for discussion. The goal of a sermon-based Life group is to help people understand and apply the Biblical truths presented each week.

When and where do Friend Groups meet?

Friend Groups can meet any where: in homes, at coffee shops or restaurants, or even in parks or outdoors. Most commonly groups will meet in the home of one of its members, on the chosen day and time.

What if I don’t like the group I sign up for?

We ask that you give your group a fair chance and attend at least 3 meetings. After that you are free to choose another group.

What about childcare in Friend Groups?

Each group will be responsible for handling the childcare needs for their group. Parents should know that depending on the group you attend, you may be asked to help pay for a care provider or take a turn caring for the children. Please ask, or seek out groups, that can meet your family’s specific needs.

How do I find a group at NCC?

You can ask the people you know if they are in a group; and then ask them if you can join them in their group or call the church office, (319) 366-0755, and we can help you make a connection with a group and its leader.
