WATER BAPTISM
Baptism in water by immersion, is direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ in HIS death, burial, and resurrection. This wording for water baptism is adopted: "on the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and the Son. and the Holy Ghost. Amen" (Matt 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; Acts 10:47-48; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:26 -39).
THE LORD’S SUPPER
The Lord’s Supper (communion) is a privilege afforded all believers in commemoration of our Lord’s death until He comes. New City Church practices “open communion,” meaning all persons who confess Jesus as Lord are welcome to participate, regardless of local church affiliation (Matt. 26:26-29; 1 Cor. 11:23-28).
